The International Journal on Stereo & Immersive Media Releases Two New Issues

The editorial board of the International Journal of Stereo & Immersive Media is pleased to announce the publication of its 2024 issue (Vol.8) and the 2025 special issue, Artistic Research Now (Vol.9).

The 2024 issue opens with a special invited paper by Emeritus Professor Nicholas Wade and an exclusive interview with Laurent Mannoni, commemorating the 30th anniversary of his landmark book, The Great Art of Light and Shadow: Archaeology of the Cinema.

The peer-reviewed section explores a range of compelling topics, including:

  • Francis Frith’s stereoscopic photography in Egypt – analysed by Seth Thompson.
  • Keystone’s misleading legends on colonial subjects – examined by Melody Davis.
  • The early history of stereoscopic photography in Angola – researched by Nuno Borges de Araújo.

Additionally, this issue presents a rare contemporary Lippmann stereo by Filipe Alves.

The cover features an evocative image of the storage rooms of the French Cinematheque, reflecting Mannoni’s vision for a comprehensive museum dedicated to French cinema.
