PhD Talks

The PhD Talks in Media Art and Communication took place from November 2021 to January 2022, either on Zoom or in presence, and were presented by three renowned media researchers: Tom Gunning (University of Chicago), Martyn Jolly (Australian National University School of Art and Design) and Denis Pellerin (Brian May Archive of Stereoscopy).

MediaLab Talks

Media Lab Talks present the research undertaken by international media labs in media, arts and technologies that inspire CICANT’s doctoral and post-doctoral research. These online events were organized in 2021 by CICANT’s PhD Programs in Communication and in Media Arts.

Artistic Research

The Early Visual Media Lab promotes workshops for a hands-on approach to the students’ research themes and interests.

International Conference on Stereo & Immersive Media

The International Conference on Stereo & Immersive Media aims to bring together the research fields of photography, sound and cinema, considering their historical and current relationships with expanded and immersive environments.

Jorge Marçal da Silva – digital curatorship

The exhibition JORGE MARÇAL DA SILVA – THE IMMERSIVE DIMENSION proposes to present the documentary and photographic assets of the surgeon and amateur photographer, highlighting and maintaining throughout the exhibition the preference for capturing stereo images through his Jules Richard verascope stereo camera.
