DECADOCS Doctoral Network Launched at Lusófona University

DECADOCS, the Doctoral Network for Decadence Studies, was officially launched at Lusófona University on October 3–5, 2025. The event, organised by CICANT’s Early Visual Media Lab (EVML) and the Université Bourgogne Europe, marked the official start of this new Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) Doctoral Network.

Over three days, partners from across the DECADOCS consortium met to discuss the network’s operational and academic framework. The agenda covered topics such as the joint research programme, supervision structures, governance, finances, and dissemination activities, laying the groundwork for the doctoral programme’s next phases. Plans were also discussed for the first DECADOCS Summer School, scheduled to take place in Glasgow in September 2026.

During the event, the Early Visual Media Lab showcased its research in immersive media heritage, focusing on the digital mediation of historical visual culture. Presentations included VR applications, stereoscopic images, and interactive interfaces that demonstrate diverse approaches to engaging with visual heritage and its historical media forms.
